Systems, Inc
is a small high technology development concern specializing in the
creation and development of high performance, innovative applications
of interferometric and holographic measurement. Rice Systems has devised
a unique method collecting a precise sequence of interferograms. The
company designed a crystallography system to implement their new method.
The designers then needed an automated process with a friendly easy
to use interface in order to control the timing, acquisition, and
storage of data gathered during the collection process. They
also needed to make annotations to the data. Oaktree
Systems Development answered Rice Systems' needs by
creating user interface process software for a Windows 95 Operating
System and actuation software for a Paralax,
Inc. BASIC
Stamp™ microprocessor . This processor uses information
provided by the user through the Windows 95 software interface to
control illumination and shutter sequences in the crystallography
system through the Stamp's output interface. The serial port of a
Windows-based PC was the hardware interface between the Stamp processor
and the PC.
